The Bleasdale project
In 2002, Children from the Bleasdale Primary School in Bleasdale Lancashire interpreted a prehistoric Timber Circle. They gave an option how it would have looked when it was first constructed.
Bleasdale Circle was dug in the late 19th century has been roughly dated to
ca. 2200 BC. It comprised at least three elements - an outer enclosure, with
a small timber post circle within and to one side of it, and a central burial
from which two urns and a cup were recovered. Concrete posts have long since
replaced those that were made from timber.
