First Conference of the Contracting and signatury states of the European Landscape Convention - Florence Convention -

PROGRAMME
Introduction
The European Landscape Convention (Florence) has been signed by 22 States and
approved by one of them as of 22 November 2001.
In order to take into account all the practical questions related to its implementation,
a Conference of the Contracting and Signatory States is being held on 22 and
23 November 2001 in Strasbourg.
Objective of the Conference
In the perspective of the Convention coming into force, the objective of the
Conference is to bring together the contracting and signatory States as well
as the States invited to sign it.
The Conference will enable the:
-promotion of the signature and / or ratification of the Convention so
that it rapidly comes into force;
-discussion on legal assistance to the signatory States and to the member
States of the Council of Europe invited to sign the Convention;
-preparation of the implementation of the Convention after it comes into
force.
